Gleaming Laminate Floor Installation in Atlanta
What is laminate flooring?
The four layers of laminate flooring have been heated and pressed together to form a single unit. The underlayers are shielded by a clear coating of aluminum oxide that is stain-resistant. Aluminum oxide and melamine combined with a decorative resin foundation constitute the next stage. This sits on top of the high-density fiberboard core made of wood composites, which has typically been saturated with resins to help it resist moisture. Finally, a supporting backing that is also heavily resin-infused rests on top of the core.
Laminate flooring will expand and contract in response to changes in humidity because it is constructed of natural cellulose fibers. The purpose of laminate flooring, which features interlocking tongue-and-groove connectors, is not to be fastened to the subfloor. Instead, it rests on top of it, allowing it to flex in response to variations in the humidity.
Laminate flooring is not seen as a good option in spaces that are susceptible to high amounts of humidity, such as bathrooms, saunas, and laundry rooms, for the same reason.

The two most popular methods for installing laminate flooring are glue and glueless. Although glueless installation is more popular due to its simplicity, glue seals the spaces between the planks, making it a smart option for rooms in the house where spills are more likely to happen. Because they can install them themselves and may be stepped on right once, glueless flooring is more popular with consumers. Because they are not attached to the subflooring, these sorts of floors are known as floating floors. The laminate floor is covered with an underlayment, which is a layer of cork, foam, or rubber that serves as a sound barrier.
The planks of “glued” laminate flooring are adhered to one another rather than the floor. The laminate flooring can be removed in several ways. The planks must be easy to hand pull up. However, you might run into issues if the adhesive leaked down and attached the planks to the subfloor beneath it. In this situation, you have two options for getting rid of laminate flooring: melting the adhesive or employing a motorized floor stripper.
Before installation, some flooring brands need to acclimatize to the surroundings of the area. Depending on the temperature and humidity of the space, this could take one to three days. If you’re installing the flooring yourself, seek advice from a home improvement expert or, if possible, the product’s maker. In any other case, this information will be known by the contractor installing the product.
